GENERAL TOPICS
- Christine has been in touch with her contact at Rye and Thyme. She should be able to get in and retrieve our Club materials this week.
- Once we get the calendar raffle tickets back, we will be pulling the winners and getting up to date there.
Guest Speaker
Diana Nestorova, DG
Diana grew up in Bulgaria, a socialist country, where they were told what do do, what to wear, what to say, and even what to think. Obedience was demanded. Unthinkably, Rotary was outlawed! Now that she is here in the US, Diana fights to be sure every voice is heard.
As a result of her upbringing, Diana is passionate about this year's Rotary theme - Rotary Opens Opportunities. These opportunities include Service, Leadership, and Friendship.
Diana's second passion is for Youth. She talked about how although we may not be able to predict the future, we can help shape it.
Next on her list is growing Rotary, with the goal of achieving more. Consider working with other Clubs on joint projects, to increase camaraderie and accomplish greater results.
Although we started the year with many challenges including a global pandemic and social injustices, our new onscreen meetings allow us to connect on a deeper and more global level. Rotary adapted quickly to the changing and challenging times!
Next year, Rotary is hoping to get back to holding in-person events. The District Conference is scheduled for April 30 - May 2, 2021, at the Sturbridge Host. There will be fun activities (think mini golf) and surprises.
Let's summarize with a quote from Diana, "Club is where Rotary happens!"
