We had one guest, Joan, President of the Ayer Rotary Club.
Membership Update
No updates this week.
General Topics
The Flower Box planting is complete. The Board approved repainting the sponsor signs, and Johnny is working with Add-A-Sign to get them done in the next 2-3 weeks.
If you didn't get your Rotary t-shirt yet, Johnny has them available for pickup at Aroma Joe's.
Our Rotary Club's url was in the name of a former club member, and Charlie will be updating it.
Charlie will set up the next meeting pertaining to the Grant in progress.
We will most likely schedule a virtual installation of new officers this month (June), with Jim Fusco in attendance.
RYLA will have double the students next year since this year's event had to be cancelled.
Vocational Awards will be tentatively held end of September, if school is in session and voting is possible.
Guest Speaker
Joan, President Ayer Rotary Club
Joan joined us to talk about her Club's biggest fundraiser of the year, the Ducky Wucky Race. They typically raise $10-14K annually, but with sales down this year due to the coronavirus, they are getting creative to help increase interest. They are donating 60% of funds raised by non-profits, back to that organization. This is a great opportunity for Rotary Clubs like ours to help out another local Club, and benefit our Club as well. It's truly a win-win.
The race itself has been postponed tentatively to August, and ticket sales will be cut off about a week before the event. Tickets are $5 each, 5 for $20, or 13 for $40. With the grand prize being dinner for 2 ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, airfare and hotel included, it should be an easy sale.

Flower Box Project
Done but for the signage! Huge thanks to Johnny for taking the lead, and to everyone who turned out to help plant these beautiful flowers and plants. They are appropriate for the location and amount of sun received, and will add beauty to the downtown Leominster area for months to come.
