HOUSEKEEPING
  • It was nice seeing everyone on this Zoom meeting. Thanks for being good sports about the banner picture - it's really hard to capture everyone with their preferred pose :)
  • David Kaiser from the Westboro Rotary Club was our guest speaker.
Membership Update
  • Charlie shared a Membership video that focused on Making a Difference. Rotary allows us to meet people, do things, and strengthen principles and values that we may not have otherwise had the opportunity to do.
General Topics
  • The suggestion to collect Happy and Sad dollars will go before the board. If approved, we will submit the "fines" quarterly to our treasurer to help with Club finances, but also to help our meetings feel more like regular meetings.
  • Louise updated us from the Service Committee meeting. We are waiting for India to submit information, then we can submit the Grant application for the dialysis project.
  • It is now official that RYLA has been cancelled for this year. Checks will be returned to the participating clubs.
  • Johnny will help with the Flower Box project, by getting in touch with local contacts especially with John Souza still in Florida.
  • Please consider Rotarians for the Unsung Hero Award. This award is for Rotarians who are not in the limelight, but who have made great contributions to Rotary.

Guest Speaker

David Kaiser - Rotary Leadership Learning Institute

David joined us from the Westboro Rotary Club, to talk to us about the Rotary Leadership Institute, or as he prefers to call it, the Rotary LEARNING Institute. RLI is a grassroots organization, not controlled by Rotary International. It is held every January. It will most likely be in Marlboro, MA, on January 23, 2021.
Visit www.rlinea.org for more information or to register for the training.

** PLEASE NOTE! THIS JUST IN! **

This Saturday, 5/16, at 12:30 pm,  Johnny and Louise will be on location with the flower boxes, painting them up so they look their best. Please join them in this endeavor - it'll be fun!

Following that, and TENTATIVELY scheduled for Friday May 22nd at 4 pm, we will plant the flowers themselves. Date and time to be confirmed at our next meeting.

Get Your Rotary Shirts!

With our community involvement and projects like the downtown flower box planting, we are working to be more "branded" as a club. Part of this initiative is being consistent and wearing our colors proudly!

Johnny has offered to order shirts from a good local vendor. Please contact Johnny via email with your shirt size:

aromajoesma@gmail.com

The T-shirts will be customized with our club and your individual names. They are the teal blue we have seen Johnny wear, and lettering and logo are in white.

T-shirts are available in men's and women's sizes. Small to XL $12, 2XL and above $14.

Cash or check to Johnny Ahern, 200 New Lancaster Rd., Leominster. Or, Venmo (@Johnny-Ahern).
